Surface Area and Pore Analyzer Micromeritics Tristar II Plus 3020 (P/N 302/00000/22)

Surface Area and Pore Analyzer is a technique for analyzing surface area and porosity, which are important physical properties that affect the quality and usability of many materials and products. This analysis is important for understanding the formation, structure, and potential applications of a material. The instrument consists of three advanced analytical ports for analyzing up to three samples simultaneously which has great potential for use in research and quality control environments. The analysis process is capable of collecting up to 1000 data points, details of isotherms and pore structures can be observed and recorded with high resolution. Indicators of the analysis carried out can be isotherm, BET surface area, Langmuir Surface Area, Freundlich, Tempkin, t-Plot, Alpha-S Method, F-Ration Method, BJH Adsorption and Desorption, Dollimer-Heal Adsorption and desorption, MP-Method, DFT Pore size, and Surface energy.

This instrument can be used for the analysis of solid samples, whether in the form of adsorbents, activated carbon, catalysts, ceramics, nanotubes, battery components, geoscience materials, and pharmaceuticals.

Test requirements:

  • The sample is in the form of powder or solid with a mass of at least 2 grams
  • Must include information on the degassing temperature and degassing time of the sample according to the resistance of the sample
    • What is the degassing temperature?
    • How long is the degassing time required?
  • Choose the required test method
    • BET Surface area, or
    • Full Isotherm (BET Surface Area + BET Pore Size Distribution)
  • Include the approximate surface area value of the sample
    • < 500 m2/g, or
    • > 500 m2/g
